Does Salamander Middleburg charge a resort service fee?
Yes. A nightly resort service fee applies to overnight stays. The fee includes complimentary self-parking, local transportation within five miles of the resort, access to the Fitness Center and resort pools, select daily programming, recreational equipment and additional guest amenities.

Is self-parking available at Salamander Middleburg?
Yes. Complimentary self-parking is available for overnight resort guests. Valet parking is also available for an additional fee.
Is Salamander Middleburg a smoke-free resort?
Yes. Salamander Middleburg is a smoke-free property, and all guestrooms and suites are non-smoking. A minimum cleaning fee of 200.00, based on the size of the accommodation, will be assessed for violations of the smoking policy.
Is there an age requirement to reserve an overnight stay at Salamander Middleburg?
Yes. Guests must be at least 21 years old to reserve an overnight stay. Guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied by an adult.
What time are check-in and check-out?
Check-in begins at 4:00 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM.
What is Salamander Middleburg’s cancellation policy?

Does Salamander Middleburg offer accessible guestrooms and amenities?
Yes. Salamander Middleburg offers four ADA King Guestrooms and four ADA Double Queen Guestrooms. Accessible features include roll-in showers, built-in shower benches, roll-up vanities, lowered fixtures and visual and audible alarm systems.
Accessible parking, entrances, elevators and select resort amenities are also available. Guests are encouraged to contact Reservations at 844.308.2723 before arrival so the team can assist in selecting the most suitable accommodation. How much does valet parking cost?
Overnight valet parking is available for 43.00 plus tax per night and includes complimentary 24-hour in-and-out access.
Daily valet parking is available for 20.00 plus tax.
Can valet charge my electric vehicle?
Yes. Three Tesla charging stations are available through valet parking.
Can I use Uber or Lyft to travel to or from the resort?
Uber and Lyft are not readily available in Middleburg, and guests should not rely on rideshare services for transportation.

Is Salamander Middleburg dog-friendly?
Yes. Salamander Middleburg welcomes dogs accompanying overnight resort guests. Please note that only registered overnight guests may bring dogs onto the property; local visitors and day guests may not bring dogs to the resort.
Overnight guests may bring up to two dogs per guestroom, per stay, with no breed or size restrictions. A non-refundable cleaning fee of 225.00 plus tax applies per stay.
Dogs are welcome in designated areas but are not permitted in food and beverage outlets or the resort’s Lexus transportation vehicles. Additional restrictions apply and may be reviewed on our dog-friendly accommodations page.
Dog-friendly guestrooms are located on the first floor.
How can I purchase a Salamander Middleburg gift card?
Salamander Middleburg gift cards may be purchased online through our Gift Cards page or in person at Salamander Spa or Salamander Touch, our resort gift shop in Middleburg, Virginia.
Does Salamander Middleburg have a business center?
Yes. The resort’s business center offers two workstations near the ballrooms. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort for registered guests.
Fitness and Pools
Does Salamander Middleburg have a fitness center?
Yes. The Fitness Center is located on the Terrace Level and features natural light, countryside views and a range of cardio and strength-training equipment.
Equipment and facilities include cardio machines, free weights, abdominal training stations, Pilates equipment and a spacious movement studio.

Does Salamander Middleburg have pools?
Yes. Salamander Middleburg offers several indoor and outdoor pool experiences.
The indoor pool is located within the Fitness Center on the Terrace Level and is open year-round to overnight resort guests and members.
Champions Pool is the resort’s seasonal outdoor pool. It is generally open from mid-April through mid-October, weather permitting, and features distinct family and adults-only sections, hot tubs, cabanas and poolside dining at The Stirrup Cup. Champions Pool is available exclusively to overnight resort guests and Salamander Middleburg members.
The outdoor spa pool is available to guests receiving qualifying spa treatments or those with a reserved spa cabana.
What is the minimum age for the adults-only section of Champions Pool?
The adults-only section of Champions Pool is reserved for guests ages 21 and older. The family section welcomes guests of all ages. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

How far in advance should I reserve dining, spa treatments and resort activities?
To enjoy the greatest selection of appointment and activity times, guests are encouraged to plan their resort experiences four to six weeks before arrival.
Salamander Spa appointments are recommended four to five weeks in advance. Harrimans reservations, equestrian experiences and Champions Pool cabanas are generally recommended two to three weeks in advance. Certain experiences may have different booking requirements or may be reserved exclusively for overnight resort guests on select dates.

Yes. A one-night stay can provide time for a spa treatment, dinner at Harrimans, an outdoor activity or a special celebration.
Guests interested in experiencing a broader selection of the resort’s dining, wellness programming, equestrian activities and outdoor recreation may prefer a two- or three-night stay. A longer visit also provides more time to explore Middleburg, nearby wineries and Loudoun County.

Is Salamander Middleburg family-friendly?
Yes. Salamander Middleburg welcomes families and offers activities for a range of ages.
Family experiences may include swimming, outdoor recreation, equestrian activities, nature programming, seasonal events and family-friendly dining. Spacious guestrooms and suites are also available for families and multigenerational travel.
Kids’ Night Out is typically offered on Friday and Saturday evenings, while Camp Salamander offers full- and half-day programming for children ages 4–10. Both experiences are available exclusively to overnight resort guests and require advance reservations. Schedules are subject to change.

Salamander Middleburg is located near downtown Middleburg’s boutiques, galleries, restaurants and historic attractions. More than 20 wineries are located within approximately 30 minutes of the resort, along with equestrian venues, golf courses and scenic countryside destinations.

Wellness and Salamander Spa
Does Salamander Middleburg have a Forbes Five-Star spa?
Yes. Salamander Spa holds a Forbes Five-Star rating and offers massages, facials, body treatments, wellness experiences and dedicated spa facilities.
How early should I arrive for a spa appointment?
Guests are asked to arrive 15 to 30 minutes before their scheduled service. This provides time to check in, change and enjoy the Relaxation Lounges before the treatment begins.
Guests arriving late will receive the remaining portion of their scheduled treatment, and the full treatment price will apply.
Is there a minimum age to visit Salamander Spa?
Yes. Guests must be at least 18 years old to receive massages, body treatments and facials or to access Salamander Spa facilities. Nail services are available for guests ages 4 and older.
Guests booking salon or nail services only do not receive access to the spa facilities or Pool Courtyard. Visit the Spa Appointments page for additional policies and reservation information.

Can I visit Salamander Spa without staying overnight?
Yes. Salamander Spa welcomes day guests with confirmed treatment reservations.
On select weekends, certain appointment times may be reserved exclusively for overnight resort guests. Access to spa facilities and amenities is included only with qualifying treatments or a reserved spa cabana. Salon appointments alone do not include access to spa facilities.

Equestrian & Outdoor Activities
Do I need horseback riding experience to visit Salamander Middleburg?
No. Horseback riding is only one of the many experiences available at Salamander Middleburg.
Guests may also enjoy Salamander Spa, resort dining, pools, fitness and wellness programming, zip lining, archery, biking, nature walks and other seasonal activities.
Are equestrian and outdoor activities available to day guests?
Select experiences are available to day guests, subject to availability and applicable reservation requirements.
The Equestrian Center is open to visitors daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Saturday, Sunday and holiday equestrian appointments are reserved exclusively for overnight resort guests. Salamander Adventures also welcomes day guests, with scheduling priority extended to overnight resort guests.

Does Salamander Middleburg offer horseback riding for beginners?
Yes. The Equestrian Center offers experiences for a range of skill levels, including guests who are new to horseback riding.
Experienced instructors provide guidance throughout each experience. Age, weight and other safety requirements apply. Advance reservations are required, and booking two to three weeks ahead is recommended.

What should I wear for horseback riding and outdoor activities?
Attire requirements vary by experience. Guests should wear comfortable clothing suited to the weather and activity.
Closed-toe shoes are required for zip lining. Sturdy shoes with a closed heel and comfortable pants or shorts are recommended. Dresses, skirts, scarves, hoop earrings and other loose accessories should not be worn while zip lining, and long hair should be secured.
Guests participating in equestrian activities should confirm attire and footwear requirements when making their reservation.
What seasonal events and holiday experiences does Salamander Middleburg offer?
Salamander Middleburg hosts seasonal programming throughout the year, including holiday celebrations, culinary events, family activities, wellness experiences and outdoor recreation.

Are the guestrooms and suites at Salamander Middleburg spacious?
Yes. Salamander Middleburg offers generously sized guestrooms and suites with refined furnishings, countryside-inspired design and private balconies or terraces in many categories.

Which room categories offer connecting accommodations?
The following connecting accommodation combinations may be available:
• Terrace King connecting to a Terrace Double Queen
• Grand Prix Suite connecting to an Estate King
• Blue Ribbon Suite connecting to an Estate Double Queen
• Owner’s Suite connecting to an Estate King
Salamander Middleburg does not offer two connecting Double Queen guestrooms on any floor.

Does Salamander Middleburg offer rollaway beds?
Yes. Rollaway beds are available upon request in eligible accommodations.
Rollaway beds are not permitted in guestrooms with two queen beds. Pullout sofa beds are available in the Dressage Suite, Blue Ribbon Suite and Grand Prix Suite.

How many guestroom floors does Salamander Middleburg have?
Salamander Middleburg has four guestroom floors, with accommodations located across all four levels. The resort’s main entrance is on Level 2, which is also home to most resort amenities and all meeting spaces. Dog-friendly guestrooms are located on Level 1. The Fitness Center and indoor pool are located on the Terrace Level.

Can guests who are not staying at Salamander Middleburg dine at the resort?
Yes. Harrimans and Gold Cup Wine Bar welcome overnight resort guests and day visitors.
Reservations are strongly encouraged for dinner and Sunday Brunch at Harrimans. Gold Cup Wine Bar accepts weekday reservations, while weekend seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Stirrup Cup at Champions Pool is reserved exclusively for overnight resort guests and Salamander Middleburg members.

Do the restaurants at Salamander Middleburg accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies?
Yes. The culinary team can accommodate many dietary preferences and restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free requests, whenever possible.
Guests should provide details about allergies or dietary requirements when making a reservation and notify the dining team again upon arrival.
Are restaurant reservations required at Salamander Middleburg?
Reservations are strongly encouraged for dinner and Sunday Brunch at Harrimans. Breakfast reservations are recommended but not required. Harrimans reservations may be made through OpenTable.
Reservations are required for culinary experiences, including Afternoon Tea, cooking demonstrations, holiday events and other special programming. Culinary experience reservations may also be made through OpenTable.
Gold Cup Wine Bar welcomes guests on a first-come, first-served basis on weekends. Weekday reservations are available through OpenTable. If there is a wait, guests are invited to enjoy a drink, explore the resort or visit the Living Room, where cocktail service is available.

Is Salamander Middleburg a good destination for guests who do not drink alcohol?
Yes. Salamander Middleburg offers a range of non-alcoholic beverages, dining experiences, spa services, wellness programming, equestrian activities and outdoor recreation.
Non-alcoholic selections are available throughout the resort’s dining outlets.
Is there a dress code for dining at Salamander Middleburg?
Dining attire varies by venue.
At Harrimans, polished, fashionable attire that complements the restaurant’s refined setting is preferred. Business casual attire is recommended. Jackets are requested but not required. For gentlemen, a collared shirt with tailored pants or well-kept denim is recommended.
More casual resort attire is appropriate at Gold Cup Wine Bar and The Stirrup Cup.
Are children welcome in the restaurants at Salamander Middleburg?
Yes. Children are welcome at all Salamander Middleburg dining venues.
Does Salamander Middleburg offer in-room dining?
Yes. In-room dining is available 24 hours a day for registered overnight resort guests.
Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM, the all-day menu is available from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM and a late-night menu is offered from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Guests may dial extension 4165 from their guestroom to place an order.
